Words of Wisdom/What’s Coming Next - 1:24:23
In what has become an annual tradition, we got comfortable behind the microphones on nomination morning and recorded a massive Oscar Nom reaction show. Yes, it’s a bit raw. Yes, we’re more emotions than statistics in this one. But since we were able to enjoy many more pleasant surprises than painful snubs, it’s perhaps our most celebratory morning of this whole gosh darned pandemic, never mind one of our happier Oscar nom mornings in a long while.
We start with the overall and discuss the film by film tallies. A few favorites overperformed while a few others did not. But we because we spent the past few weeks following this movie by movie format, it was much easier to reference how films did. So that’s your first 20 or so minutes.
Then, as we always do, we go category by category and break down who’s in, who’s out, and who could be winning each of these Oscar races. We spend about 30 minutes with the big 8 categories, and then we spend another half hour with the undercard. But whatever the category, we’re able to reference our predictions and their precursor resumes to give you as full a picture as we can.
Check out our next episode with the Emmy winning Adnan Virk, who helps us dive even deeper into these nominations and how they’ve been received both inside and outside of the industry. Then we’ll have additional guests to analyze all of the best races before Oscars Sunday on April 25th.
As always, we want to hear your thoughts. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are at Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail.
