These AI agents, called GPTs, are tailored for specific tasks and can incorporate and use private data, as well as take actions within a user's online environment if permitted. Despite AI safety researchers' concerns over granting bots greater autonomy, many believe that AI will reach its full potential once it truly understands its users. The future of OpenAI’s bots also envisions users offering their customized GPTs to the public through an app store-like platform.
