Most students across the province were supposed to head to back to the classroom today. We talked to the chair of the Simcoe County District School Board about the delayed return to in- person learning. Maybe your gym is closed right now. Maybe you just don't want to go. Or it's possible that you just can't find the motivation to get moving on a New Year's fitness goal. We get some advice from David Kim-Mackinnon. Ontario has put a two-day pause on its back to school plans. But as COVID continues to surge in the province, how safe is it to return to class? We talked to Dr. Kirk Leifso who is a pediatric infectious diseases physician. With extreme weather and climate change on the minds of many Canadians, you might have some eco-resolutions for the new year. Tim Gray with Environmental Defence joined us to discuss how we can mitigate and adapt to climate change in 2022. They've invaded much of the prairies and could quickly become a nuisance in the rest of Canada. Wild pigs are on the move and they are causing serious ecological problems wherever they go. We learned more about this invasive species with Ruth Aschim. Changes to COVID-19 testing and isolation rules in this province are underway. Infectious disease specialist Dr. Gerald Evans told us about what this means, amid anticipated widespread community transmission of the Omicron variant. The holidays may be over, but there's no reason to get rid of that tree. It can have a second life and in fact, you can even decorate it in a different way. We found out how your Christmas tree can be a gift that keeps going on giving.
