Today's the last day to throw your hat in the ring for the upcoming municipal elections, if you've been sitting on the fence. We spoke with the Mayor of Collingwood to see what engagement looks like out there, and why more people should get involved in local government. With the nomination deadline for October's municipal elections just hours away, we heard from Peterborough city councilor Kemi Akapo about the representation she'd like to see on municipal councils, and what it will cost communities if those voices aren't engaged come fall. It’s been two years of virtual howling for naturalist Michael Runtz, but he’ll be back in-person at Algonquin Park tonight to host the first public wolf howl since the pandemic.
