Submit ReviewThe Oklahoma Sooners lost Austin Stogner to the transfer portal and Jeremiah Hall to the NFL draft. That's a lot of experience heading out the door for the Sooners. Enter Brayden Willis with an opportunity to be the guy for Oklahoma.
Willis who was already a standout blocker in the running game, now has a chance to show off his underrated pass-catching prowess as the presumptive starter for the Oklahoma Sooners.
At quarterback, the Sooners lost Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams to the transfer portal, but as soon as Williams hit the portal, Dillon Gabriel flipped form UCLA to the University of Oklahoma to reunite with Jeff Lebby. In Gabriel, the Sooners get a talented and experienced player to return Oklahoma to an up-tempo offense. Behind Gabriel there are questions as to who will be the primary backup, but there are intriguing options in four-star freshman quarterback Nick Evers.
Evers will get a push from last spring's transfer addition Micah Bowens as well as the only other quarterback to see snaps in 2021, Ralph Rucker.
Then John Williams and Josh Helmer breakdown players on both sides of the ball they expect to have breakout seasons in 2022.
