New Zealand has just experienced the warmest start to winter since records began 112 years ago. It's on track to stay that way, with August bringing an official end to the season. Over June and July the temperature was more than 1.5 degrees above the long term average. NIWA meteorologist Chris Brandolino spoke to Corin Dann.
