Monday's anniversary of the Hamas attacks in Israel is weighing heavily this week, as Israelis mark the Jewish new year.

Jewish Australian and author Antony Loewenstein told Radio National Breakfast there appears to be "no limits" to what Israel will do, and there is a "profound dehumanisation" of Palestinians across Israeli media and the Netanyahu Government. He says a non-violent "civil-war" has broken out in the Jewish community, splitting those who support Israel's actions, from those who are challenging them.
