The New Orleans Saints have said that they’ll leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding their next quarterback. That means we should not rule out Lamar Jackson. Reports specify that he and the Baltimore Ravens are around $100 million apart on an extension. That’s a big gap that could lead to a potential tag and trade that the Saints could be in on . Worried about the salary cap? Don’t be. New Orleans did some similar cap manipulation last season in preparation to potentially land Deshaun Watson via trade from the Houston Texans. They have the restructure opportunities to do it all over again.

Dennis Allen has begun building out his defensive coaching staff by hiring former Cleveland Browns DC Joe Woods. Things didn’t go excellent in Cleveland, but Saints fans can take solace in the fact that his role with Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis and the Saints’ defense will be vastly different than his role with the Browns. Meanwhile, Sean Payton poaches his first coaching staff member from New Orleans by hiring Zach Strief to be his new offensive line coach. Could others be next? Or will veterans like Mike Zimmer be more appealing to Payton and the Denver Broncos?
