A Nova Scotia-based forest ecologist is the central character of a new documentary premiering on CBC Gem on Friday. Donna Crossland appears in In the Quiet and the Dark, which outlines her efforts to save Eastern hemlock forests from the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid.
