What does it take to be an advocate for your community?

In January, students at Brisbane's Citipointe Christian College were forced to sign homophobic and transphobic contracts as a condition of their enrolment. When comedian Christian Hull found out, he asked his audience to sign a petition asking the school to withdraw the contract and he unintentionally became the spokesperson for the campaign.

Christian received thousands of messages over the course of a few days and was interviewed by news outlets across Australia and the world.

The contract was withdrawn but the impact on Christian was intense.

In this episode, Christian shares with host Sean Szeps about why he stood up for Citipointe students when he didn't grow up in a religious environment, the fallout of his advocacy and second-hand trauma and what parents can do to support their queer kids.
