It’s the first episode of 2018! This week we felt a little weird about talking about news the regular way so for “Currento Eventos” we did a little recap of some of the most powerful moments and movements of 2017! We talked about #Metoo, punching Nazis, the 2017 elections, what it means to resist, and the growing number of Black people being represented in the media! 2017 was a whole mess but there was power to be found there. For “What’s Your Baggage” we talk about hierarchies in relationships both platonic and romantic. We talked about where that comes from and why we think about our love having limits. For “Put it in your Bag” this week Estephanie talks about youtuber Lavendaire who specializes in personal growth, organization and being your best self! Lina brings a book of poetry called Bloom by Fernanda Marroquin Gozalo a queer Latinx femme who writes about her experiences surviving sexual assault, growing up undocumented, and her Peruvian identity. Finally for our rotating theme we talk about DATING GOALS for 2018! We talk about the types of connections we want to have with people and how to make them more meaningful for ourselves! Use our hashtag #UnpackBG to continue the conversation online! Happy new year BG FAM! As always thank you for listening and you can find all our links below!
