Though we may be as surprised as you are, we’re glad to have the excuse to talk about all things film industry in this O.R.C. We lead things off with a review of the 2nd trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. It’s awesome, it’s confusing, and we have a ton of weird takes. Then we use Tenet’s release date dilemma to segway into a major discussion on whether or not the Oscars will postpone. Of course, we analyze all the potential fallout for the film festivals, the film calendar, and the film years to come if they did push the Oscars back a month or 3. Apple TV+ bought the rights to the Tom Hanks battleship film, Greyhound, and we discuss what it means for their brand & how Steven Spielberg might react. Several of the guild award shows changed their rules to accommodate streaming titles to no surprise, but we can’t help but wonder what the news about the Documentary Film Branch’s latest shake up could do for that strange category at the Oscars. We have fun with a few smaller stories about Tribeca’s winning doggie doc - Stay, Also Mike gives you a book report on the next Yorgos film, Hawkline Monster, and we even react to the First Feinberg Forecast for this year’s Emmys. Finally, we discuss the updated betting odds for the Best Picture race. Which film is getting the most action? Who has the odds in their favor? And what do these early Vegas numbers suggest? As always, we wanna know what you think. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. You can subscribe / rate / review / like / share / & listen to us on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play, Tune In, Spotify, and just about wherever you might listen.
