A molar pregnancy is a rare complication that can happen when there are two many of dad’s chromosomes. This can happen when dad’s chromosomes duplicate because mom’s chromosomes are missing or two of dad’s sets of chromosomes are matched with one set of mom’s. This causes cells that would normally form the placenta to form cysts that grow throughout the uterus.
