So we kick things off with a What We’re Watching segment covering some Emmy worthy TV like Succession, GLOW, Hard Knocks, and yes, Big Brother. We also review an eclectic bunch of films like The Amazing Jonathan Documentary, Transporter 2, and Frances Ha, as well as some wrestling and an epic fantasy book. Your SixDegreesOfMMO submissions really made us think & laugh this past week, and there’s a celebrity cameo in the winner’s circle once again. Mike & I recap the Summer Box Office, chatting about what hit, what bombed, and what broke even. Then there’s a fun Terminator: Dark Fate trailer to break down, which we’ll come back to in our outro with some additional hot takes. But if you can just make it to our DYC section, that’s where you’ll get our flamin’ hot takes. Next week is all about It: Chapter 2, & we tell you why we’re hyped, but also worried. Annapurna resolved it’s debt issue, Richard Linklater is planning a 20 year film production, and Eva Longoria is making history by directing a movie about the creation of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos! We also react to the first image from Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho, debate the casting of Woody Harrelson as Carnage in Venom 2, highlight Netflix’s new release strategy with their reality stage show Rhythm + Flow, speculate about who dies in Halloween Kills, & we get excited about Eddie Murphy’s return to the SNL stage this Christmas. Stay tuned for our upcoming movie event review of It: Chapter 2, part 4 of The Joker Character Study on Jack Nicholson’s Joker, & our fall film festival coverage on the next Oscar Race Checkpoint. All that’s coming your way next week, & if you’re enjoying the show, do please leave us 5 stars on Apple Podcasts. Click on our show, scroll down a few seconds, and then you’ll be able to rate us. Until then, let us know what you think about the myriad of subjects we covered in this MMO Weekly, and do send us your responses to our next SixDegreesOfMMO challenge.
