Per usual, we begin with what we’re watching, and both us Mikes caught up on some Netflix with Always Be My Maybe, I Am Mother, and Chef: Season 1. Then we also caught up on some HBO with Chernobyl and Big Little Lies. We did do a few minutes on the NBA Finals and the recent Anthony Davis trade, but fit it into an Oscar Off-Season context that’ll hopefully let you into our strange little world a bit more. Our audience outdid themselves once more with their responses to last week’s SixDegreesOfMMO, and we challenge you to unite our recent re-watch series with the next one. Then we have a lot to say about the state of the movie industry during our Box Office Update where sequels are underperforming over the past few weeks. We react to next week’s theatrical releases, where of course, our interests are piqued by Toy Story 4. Then we discuss a lot of horror movie news with the upcoming Child’s Play, as well as news stories about the future of Black Christmas, Halloween, and Scream. Plus, we update a previous story about Quentin Tarantino’s heralded Star Trek, and we chat about the prequel to The Hunger Games. Finally, we have a bunch of good trailers to review. There’s a likely Oscar contender in Frozen II, a nostalghia filled sequel to The Shining in Doctor Sleep, lots of new action adventure highlights in the new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailers, a hilarious new look at Good Boys, a strangely alluring The Art of Self Defense, a possible statement picture in Official Secrets, and a Mike favorite in Glow: Season 3. As always, we want to know what you think. Send us hot takes of your own to anything we did or did not care about in this episode or that segment. Of course, we love to hear your responses to SixDegreesOfMMO, and this week poses a fun challenge your way. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. You can subscribe / rate / review / like / share / & listen to us on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play, Tune In, Spotify, and just about wherever you listen to podcasts. When reality sucks, keep watching movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, & Oscar!
