This week's Surrounded by Idiots podcast episode is about how much kids can teach us about ending discrimination. https://soundcloud.com/surrounded-by-idiots-radio-podcast/mlk-a-divided-classroom-and In the show I talk about two studies that reveal: How the death of Martin Luther King Jr., a teacher named Jane Elliott in Iowa and a classroom full of blue and brown-eyed kids created discrimination and then destroyed it in a matter of three days. How a bunch of British elementary school children were taught some very basic philosophy concepts that drastically improved their social skills, teamwork, resilience and the ability to empathize (tolerance). Lastly, I talk about what we can take from these studies in order to be the change we want to see in the world and end discrimination once and for all.
