Episode 35 Miriam Ryan22 Year-Old Miriam Ryan was murdered in Manhattan NYC in 1948. She had quietly been living her life as a gay woman in a time when most people wouldn't dare to share their truth with the world without facing repercussions from society. But in April of that year, her secret apparently cost Miriam her life when she got into an altercation with 2 men in a bar who were harassing Miriam and her female companion. That confrontation led to Miriam's murder which remains unsolved over 70 years later. When Anne Couldridge began looking into her great aunt's life and death, she had no idea of the mystery that she would find herself exploring, Anne discusses her efforts to try and put the puzzle pieces together in Miriam's case, and the documentary film that she's working on about Miriam called, Treat Her Kindly.  Treat Her Kindly documentary Treat Her Kindly Facebook page If you'd like to support this podcast through a one time or ongoing donation, please visit Patreon or Paypal Learn more about your ad choices.
