Robert and Daniel interview the Queen of Philly and Drag Rock Star, Mimi
Imfurst.
From New York to Philly and everywhere in between, Mimi Imfurst is one of the most talked about Drag Queens in the world. She started out as a member of the Haus of Acid alongside Acid Betty. A constant presence in New York nightlife, her mohawks and punk rock aesthetic were her signature style. Many years later, after appearing on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3 and RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 1, Mimi became known to a much wider audience. She herself will admit that life post-Drag Race was not always easy, but she persevered and has remained relevant and successful in one of the most fickle business around. Now residing in Philadelphia, Mimi has just released her debut solo album, "The Fire." Inspired by her love of Rock and Roll and the powerful symbolism of fire as a transformative element, she has created a body of work that is uniquely Mimi. In addition to "The Fire," Mimi is also embarking on the first leg of "The Divas of Drag" tour. This show, featuring Drag Queens from all over the country, will visit sixteen cities in numerous states. It's a tour any queen, or mere mortal, would love to join. After all, what other road trip includes a roof-top trailer for hair and costumes, a former hair dresser as the bus driver, and a stop at Dollywood?! Stay tuned, because we'll have some fun exclusive content from the "Divas of Drag" coming up soon!
