There’s a controversy brewing in Bellingham and it has to do with a former cement plant, a Canadian metal recycling company, and a lot of concerned neighbors.

Earlier this year, residents of northwest Bellingham learned that ABC Recycling had purchased industrial land just outside city limits and were planning on building a metal shredder. 

The metal shredder raises fundamental questions about the identity of Bellingham and how the community views its industrial past.
