Hello Everyone! I’M ELIZABETH JOHNSTON of Own Your Creativity and the memoir summit. Today I’m introducing memoir summit speaker, Meryl Cook.

Meryl is an author, speaker, creativity workshop leader, and contemporary rug hooking artist. She launched her hugely popular book One Loop at a Time, a story of rug hooking, healing and creativity in January 2017 and has sold over 800 copies.

A former homeopath, Meryl stepped aside from patient care to rediscover her life’s purpose following her diagnosis of breast cancer. She uses her experience to inspire others to embrace creativity as a means to get unstuck and move forward in life.

Meryl’s second book One Loop at a Time, the creativity workbook will be published this fall.

During our conversation at the memoir summit, Meryl talks about how she used writing and rug-hooking to help her through the healing process, and how it transformed her life in surprising and profound ways.
