Over the first few weeks of quarantine, nonbinary comedian Megan Pope began to recreate shameless gay thirst traps they'd seen on Instagram. Soon, the gag evolved into an expansive satirical endeavor, involving hundreds of images and endless contortions of their body to fit the cis gay male algorithmic ideal. Pope speaks with David about lampooning the gay power elite, unleashing their confidence and coming full circle. On Tuesday, August 11, Pope hosts "The Science of The Thirst Trap." You can follow them @megspope, and read about the thirst trap saga on Paper Magazine.
