Scripture passage: John 14:1-7, 15-19 Jesus said to his friends, “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” How is my heart, right now? Can I offer it to Jesus, who speaks peace and love to troubled hearts? I wonder, do I ever feel like I don’t know the way? Is it hard sometimes to know what I should do, or say, or who I should trust? What do I want to say to God about that? How does it feel to hear Jesus’s words: “I am the way, the truth, and the life?”  Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our friend: someone who is for us, who wants the best for us, and who loves to be with us. Can I invite the Holy Spirit to befriend me and walk with me today? The Holy Spirit also leads us along Jesus’s way. I wonder, can I trust that Jesus’s ways are always good, even when they are hard? That Jesus’s steps of love, forgiveness, and humility will always bring me home to God? Jesus, you are the way home to God. Jesus, you are the truth of God’s love for us and for the world. Jesus, you are the life that creates and sustains us, and carries us through death into eternal life with God. Send your Spirit to us and help us walk in your ways with joy and gratitude.
