Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation started in 1989 to make the program sustainable. Listen to the CEO Lt. Gen Pete Osman, USMC (ret) explain the program and all the private support it receives to host Jim Fausone.  In 2019, it will collect about 19 million toys and books to distribute to children in over 810 communities across the United States.
