Boston pushed back after trailing by 13 points late in the fourth to within two before Brandon Ingram iced the game with a step back jumper over Jayson Tatum. Zion Williamson and Ingram combined for 53 points, while Jayson Tatum went for 34 on the Celtics side with a hot start and 15-0 push alongside Marcus Smart to try to win late. Smart played puzzling basketball throughout otherwise, heaving a half court shot of his own as the Pelicans shot clock expired and Boston got the ball back. He chucked threes and struggled defensively, as the Celtics Post Game Show debated whether Boston missed its chance to trade him. Speaking of trades, deadline addition Evan Fournier shot 0-for-10 with 0 points in 33 minutes in one of the worst performances in Celtics history.
