Jivana is the founder of Accessible Yoga, an organization that focuses on "sharing the benefits of yoga with anyone who currently does not have access to these practices, and with communities that have been excluded or underserved." Jivana seamlessly weaves together his background in social activism with his passion for yoga in his latest book, Accessible Yoga: Poses and Practices for Every Body." He has a unique ability to honor and respect the yoga tradition while making it so beautifully clear and simple. One of my favorite parts of the book is how he describes yoga as, "calm mind, open heart."

We also talk about why he feels that yoga, at its core, is naturally inclusive and accessible to all, what it means to do "advanced yoga," and his vision for a truly accessible yoga classroom.
