The original "Lord of the Rings" trilogy earned composer Howard Shore--who also scored "The Hobbit" films--two Academy Awards for Best Original Score and three Grammy's for Best Score Soundtrack Album. For the new series, "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power," composer Bear McCreary had to figure out how to build on that legacy and write the sound of a much earlier Middle Earth. McCreary explains how he approached it.
