Submit ReviewThis week on Eric Krasno Plus One, Kraz is joined by guitarist and singer Luther Dickinson. As the son of legendary Memphis record producer Jim Dickinson, Luther has been musically nourished since his days in the cradle, and a lifetime of music has turned him into a top-notch slide player. He’s made a name for himself through his soulful playing in the North Mississippi Allstars, as well as through his work with mega-stars like The Black Crowes and Phil Lesh.
In this conversation, Kraz and Dickinson talk growing up in a musical family, organically cultivating musical styles, a unique recording process that Dickinson used on his last record, and much more. Dickinson’s enthusiasm about music is infectious, and in this discussion he provides thoughtful commentary on his musical journey, while exuding a deep and genuine appreciation for the artists he’s worked with and been inspired by.
