With Halloween just around the corner, fireworks are on many minds. While they traditionally have been used to celebrate this time of year, many municipalities have banned--or are in the process of banning them due to safety, noise adn environmental concerns. We speak with Dave Meers, assistant chief, community safety division with the Vancouver Fire Department about how the ban in Vancouver has reduced injuries and damage over the past two years. And Elizabeth Melnick from Elizabeth's Wildlife Rescue joins us to talk about fireworks' impact on pets, farm animals and wildlife.
