The Minnesota Wild picked up a 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes 5-2 to complete their 3 game road trip at 2-1. The Wild started the scoring on a goal from Kirill Kaprizov to make it 1-0. After the Hurricanes tied the game at 1, Kaprizov scored again to take a 2-1 lead. The Hurricanes answered once again to tie the score at 2-2. The Wild scored the final 3 goals of the game, as Joel Eriksson Ek scored to make it 3-2, and the Wild added empty net goals from Kirill Kaprizov and Jake Middleton to cap the scoring. Filip Gustavsson was strong all night, but particularly early, stopping 40 of 42 shots as the Wild Penalty Kill was a perfect 4/4 to finish this game and 9/9 in the last two games. The Wild host Washington for their next game on Tuesday.
