Guest: Jared McBride is a lecturer in the History Department at UCLA specializing is in ethnic diversity and mass violence in Nazi-occupied Volhynia, Ukraine, during the Second World War.  He’s currently finishing a book titled Webs of Violence: Occupation, Revolution, and Terror in Western Ukraine, 1941-1944. He’s the author of “Peasants-into-Perpetrators.pdf">Peasants into Perpetrators: The OUN-UPA and the Ethnic Cleansing of Volhynia,1943–1944” in the fall 2016 issue of Slavic Review and “Whos-Afraid-of-Ukrainian-Nationalism.pdf">Who’s Afraid of Ukrainian Nationalism?” in the Summer 2016 issue of Kritika.
