While life in Australia often means watching unsettling bushfires roll out on our screens — and in some cases, horizons — fire doesn't have to be scary. In fact, manipulating fire was a pillar of Indigenous Australia's management of this continent since at least the last ice age… until of course, colonisation attempted to snuff it out.
