Bassist Linda May Han Oh grew up in Australia, and moved to the US a little over ten years ago. In that time, she’s risen to a position of real prominence on the current jazz scene. She’s very much in demand as a bandmember, playing on albums by Dave Douglas, Art Hirahara, E.J. Strickland, and George Colligan; she’s a member of Pat Metheny's new quartet; she's recorded four albums as a leader, with a fifth one on the way later this year; she teaches at the Manhattan School of Music and other places; and she’s a member of the collective many.org/">We Have Voice, which is working to achieve greater gender parity in jazz.

In this interview, we talk about a lot of different projects, including some she barely remembered playing on. We talk about the various things she’s doing now, how she sees jazz changing at the moment, and where she sees it going in the future.
