Local Government New Zealand has welcomed the government's commitment to housing growth, but says the lack of support to make it happen is a major concern for some councils. The Housing Minister, Chris Bishop, announced a raft of changes yesterday, including requirements for urban fringe expansion and 30-year housing growth targets for cities Whangarei Mayor Vince Cocurullo, whose council is a member of Local Government New Zealand, spoke to Corin Dann.
