Thanks for listening to Festival Circuit: New Orleans. We wanted to share an episode of Let's Go Together, from the publishers of Travel + Leisure. Journalist, pilot and travel expert Kellee Edwards hosts this podcast about celebrating inclusivity while inspiring people to explore the world. The episode we're going to include here is an interview with Morgan Jerkins, a writer and travel expert who has a new book called “Wandering in Strange Lands,” about tracing the journeys of her ancestors who were part of the Great Migration. This is a period between 1916 and 1970 when six million African Americans left the South to travel North and West. Kellee and Morgan also talk about exploring Russia, Japan and lots of other countries—and about traveling the world as black women.
