This episode looks back on all the big stories from Saturday’s football action and Aaron Paul has just the line-up to do that. Former Liverpool and Aston Villa midfielder Stewart Downing and The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke join the pod and they start in the Premier League as there was big movement at the bottom of the table. Leicester got their first Premier League win in 10 games after they got the better of Wolves, and those vital three points pushed them out of the drop zone. They hear from Dean Smith and a very relieved Leicester fan joins the pod too. That result pushes Everton into the relegation places and the guys ask if Everton can make it out - Sean Dyche also comes on to give his verdict after his side drew with Crystal Palace. Attention then turns to the FA Cup semi-final and Manchester City – who in the end comfortably beat Sheffield United 3-0 to keep their Treble hopes alive! Aaron asks that all important question – can they do it? But even Pep Guardiola doesn’t want to answer! They also give love to Riyad Mahrez after he made history by becoming the first player to score a hat-trick in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. And during the time of recording they hear the news that Wrexham have been promoted into the Football League for the first time in 15 years – we get Stewart and Jack’s instant reaction and Aaron asks if Wrexham are making non-league football sexy again… Timecodes: 2’15 – Leicester section 7’20 – Dean Smith interview 14’00 – Everton focus and Sean Dyche interview 21’00 – Leeds chat. 25’30 –Manchester City focus. 30’00 – Pep Guardiola interview. 35’00 – Are Brighton FA Cup semi-final favourites? 39’00 – Wrexham section.
