Submit ReviewROCK TALK WITH MITCH LAFON presents legendary Nazareth singer, Dan McCafferty.
During our conversation, Dan discusses his latest solo album - Last Testament, realizing it was time to leave Nazareth, his health, the Guns N' Roses effect, did the record company force them to record the cover The Everly Brothers' Love Hurts, self-producing albums, his upcoming tour plans, the effect of the Universal Music fire on Nazareth's catalog, and much more. Quotes from the interview - "As a 73 year old guy, you don't get a lot chances at recording another album, but I'd like to make Last Testament 2 or 3."
On his new solo album Last Testament, "I really did not want to make a cheapo version of Nazareth. That would have been appalling."
On leaving Nazareth, "I said look boys I cannot do this anymore, but there's no reason for there to be no Naz. The boys sat down and everybody was upset. We're all close mates... It was very sad for me and I still miss the guys everyday."
On dropping Roger Glover as Nazareth's producer, "He wanted to start formulating, but that's not Naz. Being in Deep Purple, he liked Deep Purple. It should be Deep Purple. You know what I mean... We wanted a change from Roger anyway."
"I found my career... a lot of bumbling goes on and I think that's true of a lot of musicians - to be quite honest.
