The Lakers bid goodbye to Staples Center in an unceremonious fashion, falling 113-110 to the San Antonio Spurs. On both sides of the ball, save the 66 combined, efficient points from LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, it was a disaster on multiple counts, on both sides of the ball. (30 points for Keita Bates-Diop, anyone?)

Even worse than the outcome, the Lakers played like a team that's grown increasingly frustrated at their fate this season. On the court, there are questions of whether this roster can work under the best of circumstances, but even worse, injuries, COVID absences and a perpetual lack of continuity has left them unable to really know where they stand. This reality is clearly weighing on them, and even LeBron, with his supreme confidence, is struggling to remain positive. What comes next remains to be seen, but there's a sense that time is running out to fix what ails them, assuming they'll ever be in the position to truly try.
