Almost 500 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon's south, marking the deadliest day of conflict since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, and surpassing the port explosion of 2020.

More than 16,000 people have been injured in these strikes, putting Lebanon's health system further in crisis. Firass Abiad, Lebanon's Health Minister told RN Breakfast the community doesn't want escalation, and while he claims Israel is driving the events, he says he's "calling on everyone to stop".
