She finished ahead of her Barcelona team mate Jenni Hermoso by over 100 votes so we can clearly say that she was a deserved winner. Putellas captained her side Barcelona to their first ever Champions League title this year after a 4-0 thrashing of English side Chelsea in the final – Putellas scored one and also had an assist. Her club also won the treble after dominating the 2021 Spanish season and Putellas scored 18 league goals in that campaign. A worthy winner.
