Stinger: You are listening to languagecaster.com (in French) DF: Well done to Liverpool on winning the 2020 Premier League title – deserved winners indeed – this is after Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat away at Chelsea this week. And in this report we look at some of the numbers surrounding this title win. 7 Liverpool won the 2020 title with seven games still to play in the league which is a record for top-flight football in England. Liverpool could lose their next seven matches and still win the league – amazing! 30 This number refers to the number of years since the club last won the league title – they won it for the last time back in 1990. The phrase ’30 years of hurt’ is one that fans may have seen/heard over the past weeks as Liverpool moved closer to winning the title. Although, as a Tottenham fan, 30 years seems like a fairly short time as we are now in our 59th year of hurt! 19 The number of league titles that Liverpool have won which means that they are now only one behind Manchester United’s record of 20. They won their first title in 1901 and of course their 18th was in 1990. 43 The total number of trophies that the club has won in its history which means that they have won more trophies than any other club in English football. That’s six European Cups/Champions League titles, 19 league titles, 7 FA Cup wins,  8 League Cup titles, 3 UEFA Cup or Europa League titles. Uf! An impressive collection of silverware. 5 Liverpool had finished second – as runners-up – on five occasions since they last won the title. In 1991, 2002, 2008-09, 2013-14 and of course last season 2019 when they missed out on the title to Manchester City despite finishing on 97 points. 7 This is the number of managers that Liverpool have had since Kenny Dalglish won his third league title as manager in 1990.  They include Frenchman Gérard Houllier, Spaniard Rafael Benítez and current Leicester manager Brendan Rogers who all managed the Reds to second-place finishes during their time at the club. The current manager Jürgen Klopp took over in 2015 and doesn’t look like he will be going anywhere soon.  Stinger: You are listening to languagecaster.com (in Catalan) These are some of the numbers that you may hear over the next...
