Welcome everyone to the podcast for all those interested in improving their English skills and who love the beautiful game of football. My name is Damon and I’m based in Tokyo, Japan and I’m hoping that down the line in London is the other half of this show, Damian. Damian, how are you doing? DF: Hi Damon. I’m good thank you and hello everyone from a rather grey London. What football did you watch this week Damon? DB: Well, I watched Liverpool, of course, and I watched your team as well lose against Watford. DF: Yes, I was disappointed to see Tottenham lose against high-flying Watford on Sunday and then watched the Irish team get thrashed by Wales in the UEFA Nations League that started this week and I’ll be talking about that game a little later on in the show. DB: Yes,that’s right it’s the international break this weekend, when the national sides take the spotlight as club football has a break… Line Up DF: But there’s no break for us at languagecaster.com, DB: …no… DF: …as there’s still lots of football to talk about. On the show we’ll start with a football-language question and move on to talk about some of the stories from last week in our good, the bad and ugly section. After that, we’ve got some English expressions for football – this week we look at Cruyff turn (aha)  and then we’ll finish with some predictions, and this week we have two games from the UEFA Nations League and one big international friendly to look ahead to. DB: Great stuff! Stinger: You are listening to Languagecaster.com (in Chinese) DB: Yes, you are listening to languagecaster.com.
