This Kill Bill 2 pod was a monster. We broke down the film with non-spoiler & spoiler reviews, we discussed all the controversy, and we speculate on the kind of sequel we hope to eventually get with Volume 3. It’s our longest episode in a while and for good reason. Layout of Our Tarantino Review Episodes - 1:14 NON-SPOILER REVIEW: Cast and Crew - 3:34 Specs - 10:00 (Covering MeToo, Weinstein, the On-Set Crash, and more) Plot Premise/Where We First Saw It - 32:20 Production Values: Sight - 35:08m What Made Quentin Dance? - 39:41 Performances - 42:30 (Including Oscars Lens) Script Thoughts/Homages - 46:22 (Including Screenplay Oscars Lens - 48:09) MMO Theater’s Spoiler Warning Scene - 49:58 SPOILER-FILLED REVIEW: Trademark Tarantino - 52:01 (Sneaky Classic Tarantino - 1:02:20) (New Tarantino + Un-Tarantino - 1:09:07) (w/ Worsts + Lowlights Scattered Throughout and - 1:17:09) Tarantino’s Screenwriting Advice - 1:22:51 Easter Eggs/TarantinoVerse Building - 1:24:56 Fantasy Casting Kill Bill Volume 3 - 1:30:33 Your Homework/Our Social Medias/TALK TO US! - 1:39:35 Coming Next From MMO/Words of Wisdom - 1:40:30 8 new segments are added to our normal movie review format. As always, our non-spoiler section begins with some casting couch stories and then the specs. But with this behind the scenes production story, we have a huge conversation about all of the bombshells dropped during 2017. Tarantino was under fire, and rightly so, it seemed, but we also ask some serious questions about the other powers behind this production. After we attend to this pressing business, we dive into the film. Our non-spoiler section features an Oscar Lens on the acting and writing. We discuss our first watch stories and review the production values, performances, and script. There’s a fun conversation about the soundtrack as we figure out what made Quentin Dance, and we also highlight many of the homages Tarantino made throughout the film. MMO Theater performs another scene to warn you of upcoming spoilers. Then we break down so many best scenes in our Trademark Tarantino segment. There’s the classic, under-rated, and innovative, and we analyze the dialogue, compare & contrast the spaghetti western & martial arts film genres, and we enjoy how QT had evolved his style up to this point in his career. We do have another discussion about the movie’s worst scenes before we dive into some screenwriting advice according to Tarantino. Then there’s a long look at the many easter eggs, and we finish some homages that we couldn’t do in non-spoilers before we wax poetic on the Tarantino-verse and build on our chat in the last episode about some major fan theories. Finally, we have a blast talking about what Volume 3 might become in the future. We don’t normally go this long, but just like how the film was a massive undertaking, we felt compelled to give this myriad of subjects their due. If you liked our deep dive into this film, we hope you would check out our previous episodes on Reservoir Dogs, a two parter on Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and of course, Kill Bill Vol. 1. We’ll continue the re-watch next week with a look at Death Proof, and we also have more reviews of new movies coming with Spider-Man: Far From Home and Midsommar. So stay tuned. Let us know what you want out of Kill Bill Vol. 3, and do feel free to respond or comment on anything we discussed in this episode.
