In today’s Talmud pages, Kiddushin 75 and 76, we read that it was not allowed to question the lineage of any member of the army. When asked why, it was said that this was in order that they would be protected in battle by their ancestors. Jews follow a different set of rules when it comes to war. Whether they be always leaving a route for escape, or the rule against upending fruit trees during battle, this shows the importance of our moral code handed down by our ancestors. What are the rules when it comes to war for Jews? Listen and find out. Like the show? Subscribe to our weekly newsletter. Send us a note at takeone@tabletmag.com.
