Manchester United Women's Team Captain Katie Zelem joins the UTD Podcast this week. She comes highly recommended on previous episodes with her team mates, and she didn't disappoint!

Katie opened up about the difficulties she faced as the only girl in her childhood football teams, receiving verbal abuse on the pitch and the sidelines. She spoke about how that made her stronger and how she wants to make sure other girls don't have to go through that, and how proud she is to see fans with the name 'Zelem' on the back of their shirts.

She also recalled how her dad 'tricked' her into trialling for Manchester United at The Cliff Training Ground, and her mum's reaction to seeing Katie's mural painted on a wall in Manchester city centre.

Helen, Sam and special guest host Pien Meulensteen also read out your emails at the end of the episode. If you'd like to write to the only official Manchester United Podcast then e-mail utdpodcast@manutd.co.uk

If you'd like to listen through our back-catalogue, the best place to do that is over on the Manchester United App, where you can listen to and watch all of our episodes in full for free!

We'd also love it if you could leave us a rating and review wherever you listen to your podcasts.
