The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-0 behind a strong pitching performance by American League Cy Young frontrunner Gerrit Cole, who pitched a two-hit, complete game in the Rogers Centre to finish his 2023 season with a 2.63 ERA. It’s the time a Yankees pitcher has led the American League in ERA since Rudy May in 1980. And on the offensive side, Aaron Judge had another two home-run performance in Toronto (he also had an infamous one in May) to help lead the Yankees to victory. It is interesting that the two best players on the team combined forces to get a big win to get the Yankees to 81 wins, which guarantees at least a .500 season. It also guarantees a season series win over the Blue Jays. Then, they discuss Bob Klapisch’s article about the Yankees ‘audit that will be happening in the offseason. (link is down below) The Yankees have hired an outside company to audit their processes—everything from trades to international draft picks, scouting, and the minor leagues. Should be interesting what they find but Steve and Stacey discuss what they think about the audit and if it will actually do anything to change things. Then they preview the series' final game in Toronto between Luke Weaver and Chris Bassitt.
