Los Angeles native Joey Dosik considers himself The Nostalgiac, a realization he had on the way to the studio one day while wearing a Magic Johnson shirt he’s had since 1990, and it’s a fitting title for his new album. Dosik took that spirit and dotted his recording with found sounds, voice memos, and childhood VHS audio. Featuring a gamut of LA’s stellar session musicians, “Beat The Same” is an uplifting R&B powerhouse.
