Columnist JD Mullane joins the Dom Giordano Program to give his take on a proposal and petition to move Halloween to the last Saturday of October, which in the petitioners views, would ease up stress on parents who are used to bringing their children trick-or-treating on Halloween weeknights. Mullane argues that this is a push by millennials who would like to further drink and celebrate on a weekend night for Halloween. Mullane writes in the Bucks County Courier Times, “You have to wonder if ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,’ were made today what it would look like. To reflect current sensibilities, my guess is the cast would be young, college-educated adults. First, they’d visit Spirit Halloween to buy macabre costumes, ghoulish severed body parts, and disturbing animatronic decorations evoking visions from Hell. The darker, the better. Then they’d head off to Lucy and Linus’s house to smoke weed, dance to techno club music, and get drunk on shots of Fireball whiskey.”
