Alice Springs has nearly finished the first week of its two-week curfew, with some in the community calling for the curfew to be extended.

NT Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price says the curfew will only be an interim measure and long-term solutions are needed to protect the "vulnerable and children in dysfunctional circumstances". She says right now there is a sense of calm, but there needs to be more investment in police.
