Canada looks like it could be heading towards an early election, after key political ally - the progressive New Democratic Party - pulled support from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Political journalist Bill Curry says while the move is adding some "uncertainty" to election timing, and it doesn't look like there will be an election "in the next few months" - but suggests the election may come earlier than expected next year.
