On Wednesday Katherine Zappone, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs formally announced the government’s plans to begin the phased reopening of childcare facilities around Ireland.  As part of the plan, personal from the sector are due to begin working in the homes of Ireland’s healthcare workers. The terms of this agreement, however, have caused some dispute within the sector, particularly around concerns on potentially unsafe working conditions. 

Episode 24 of Viral COVID - 19  look’s at how Ireland’s childcare plan will be implemented in phase one, and whether it is possible to do so in a manner that prevents further contraction of COVID 19.
